Rev 3.0 is primarily an IT-related upgrade to Rev 2.9.4. Two computer-related issues have been resolved with this upgrade. As you may know, Microsoft has ended its support for Windows XP making the operating system obsolete as of April 8, 2014. At the same time, computer manufacturers are moving away from 32-bit computers to 64-bit computers systems.
Rev 2.9.4 was able to work with 32-bit computers and Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems. However, Rev 3.0 can work now with both of these operating systems, as well as work in both a 32-bit and 64-bit environment.
To make things slightly more complicated, the older DigiTrak Plus recorders can only be used with a 32-bit computer. This has to do with the firmware components inside this older version recorder.
If you want continue running your older DigiTrak Plus recorders, you can still upgrade to Rev 3.0. You will need to just keep using a 32-bit computer.
